Where’s the best spot as a spectator to watch the Monaco Grand Prix?
There are lots of great areas to see the action, but F1’s official site, recommends grandstands B (near Casino Square) or L through P (near “the Swimming Pool”) as your best spots to watch the race.
Where is the best place to stay overnight to watch the race?
Downtown Monaco – preferably overlooking the racecourse.
But let’s be honest, that’s what everyone would love and Monaco hotel rooms will go to those willing (and able) to pay top prices or who plan ahead. Lodging will sell out well in advance of the race and even basic rooms will come in at ridiculously high prices.
If you aren’t able to snatch up a room early, look a bit further up and down the French Riviera. Nice (about 20 km southwest) should have slightly more affordable alternatives – but don’t delay as supply will go down and prices will rise as race day approaches. Reserve something early (with free cancellation if you can) so you don’t miss out.
How do you get to the race course? Are public transport options available?
The Monaco Grand Prix circuit winds through Monte Carlo’s streets and is hard to miss if you are in town that day. You can consult the course map to see where the action will take place.
Monaco is accessible via France’s rail service SNCF – through Monaco Monte Carlo station. Bus and taxi service is available, but will be impacted by racing activities.
Flying in? Most visitors arrive to Monaco via Nice’s Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) located about 30 km west.
